NSS Karnataka (Nair Seva Sangh, Karnataka) from its inception in the year 2008 has been gaining a steady acceptance resulting in successfull establishment of 15 units (known as Karayogams in malayalam) with a membership of nearly 2000 Nair families. NSS Karnataka is growing in the right direction. Registered under Karnataka Society's Act 1960,initially as Nair Service Society,
Bangalore and subsequently changed to Nair Seva Sangh Karnataka. The management team comprising of board members and office bearers are individuals of repute with corporate/entrepreneurial background. They are backed by unstinted support and co-operation from all members. NSS Karnataka stands for the unity, strength and growth of Nair community members. It is the unwritten precondition for membership in NSS Karnataka that the members shall dedicate themselves through their tireless efforts, presistent approach and vision to contribute for the well-being of the society and growth of the Organisation.
Nair Seva Sangha Karnataka (regd.) (NSSK) formerly known as Nair Service Society Bangalore (regd.) is a socio-cultural organization registered under the Karnataka Societies Registration Act 1960.(Registration Number 632/08-09).By virtue of the recognition and registration under the said Act, NSSK shall abide by and comply with all provisions of the Act in letter and spirit from the date of commencement of service to the community in……………
Nair Seva Sangha Karnataka (Regd) Bangalore shall function in the state of Karnataka. Any litigation or proceedings by or against the organization shall be within the jurisdiction of the Courts in Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP)
Key Aims and Objectives:
• Promote and protect unity and co-operation amongst the Nair community members residing in the state of Karnataka.
• Create awareness among the members about the history, customs and practices, social and religious obligations of members of Nair community members.
• Initiate socio-cultural, economic, educational, welfare and other allied activities for the benefit of all irrespective of caste, creed , community and religion.
• Provide guidance, support, hands on assistance and clarifications on various religious, cultural and social functions of the community members
• Build healthy relationship with likeminded organizations of own and other community members in Karnataka.
• Establish orphanages, old age homes, hospitals, libraries, trusts, schools, research institutions, community living colonies etc for the welfare and benefit of members.
• Initiate other lawful acts, deeds and activities for the benefit and welfare of members and society at large.
Lady members of Karayogam takes the initiate to form Stree Shakti . Their role and responsibilities inter-alia includes conducting cultural programmes, classes for fine arts, welfare initiatives for members, entrepreneurial skill development etc.
Youth members are the torch bearers for tomorrow. Their enthusiasm, sportsman spirit, inertia and initiatives find a platform through their own Youth wing of NSSK. They organize sports and games, enact skits etc. The senior leaders of NSSK takes initiative to train and mould the youth members to become leaders of tomorrow..
Mannam Charitable Trust
With the unstinted support and co-operation of various well-wishers of NSSK, Mannam Charitable Trust has been formed to extend charities and support to all members. A separate governing body manages and administers the operations of the Trust based on the bye-law and rules. Trust has been providing financial, educational, medical and other supports to members based on each case evaluated and recommended by the Karayogams and Board of NSSK. Mannam Charitiable Trust has been recognized by the Income Tax Department and got 80G exemptions for all donations made to the trust as per provisions of the act.
NSSK is the `single window’ for most of the supports required by the community members on a `home away from home’ basis. Following services are on the menu:
Mangalya Vedi:NSSK administer a marriage registration portal called `Mangalya vedi’. Members can register their requirements to find suitable matrimonial alliance for their children. The services are available even for second marriage requirements.Please contact NSSK with duly filled application form.
Kali Muttam:As the name depicts, it is a forum for tiny tots and children of all ages to learn their mother tongue Malayalam which do not otherwise find a place in their school curriculum. Eminent personalities and educationists spare their valuable time to conduct classes in writing, reading, speech, communication skills etc. These classes are conducted during the summer vacation time. It also extends supporting arm for any other educational support to the needy.
Religious ceremonies and rituals:NSSK team will be at the door step of members (even non members!) to help the family members for various religious and customary rituals like Marriage fixation ceremony, conduct of marriage, naming ceremony, rituals for death and cremation etc. Such services are voluntary and free of cost.
Vavu Bali – Remembering and paying respects to the departed souls of near and dear ones is a cultural heritage of all human beings and people from Kerala usually conducts vavu bali on the sankrathi day of Malayalam month Karkitakam. NSSK organizes vavu bali on a mass scale in a prominent lake shore in which thousands of members/non members participate. Priests from Kerala and Bangalore provide professional support and guidance for the auspicious function. All materials required for the same shall be organized by NSSK team.
